What is domestic violence?
Domestic violence, also called domestic abuse, can happen to anyone, regardless of gender or sexuality and is defined as any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those who are, or have been, intimate partners or family members. 

This can include, but is not limited to:
  • psychological;
  • physical;
  • sexual;
  • financial; and/or
  • emotional abuse.
